InSpIrAtIoNs 1

After traveling down to the lovely North Cornwall on Thursday eve and cycling along the Camel Trail ( Wadebridge to Padstow) with my sister on the Friday, I thought it was time to get back to my creativity and get some inspiration.

I have been staying with my family who live in Port Isaac. Port Isaac is a small fishing village more recently known for the T.V Series Doc Martin and Fishermen friends (an all mens shanty quoir).

I decided to take a walk around the village which brought back many memories of my childhood adventures and teenage rebellion.

Having walked around for a while, I started to take some inspirational photos for my hand made crafts...due to my interest in all things twee the camera lent itself towards this theme!!

Fabric Hearts

Thursday I was invited around to Sue Wooldridge house as she said I could have some scrap materials. Sue makes patchwork quilts, a few weeks ago at Knitty Gritty( A craft+sewing group I attend) Sue finally finished a quilt she had been making for four years...amazing!!!

After rambling through Sue's fabric boxes, I managed to find some flower materials that I thought would be great for making fabric hanging hearts. Once home I got straight on with task and made the hanging hearts in about two hours!! The photos I have taken of the hearts do not show their full potential, but give you a taste of the final product.

The Princess and Pirates party at the toddler group ( Helping Hands) where I work on Fridays, went very well. All looked very sweet in their costumes and enjoyed making the pirate/princess hats with me on the craft table!! (no photos due to child protection)

I also, on Saturday, Travelled up to Gloucestershire with Tom, Lenny and Naomi, for Phil + Helens wedding, which was a picture perfect day!! All in all a busy weekend ...

Any interest you may have in purchasing some fabric hanging hearts please e-mail me for more details linzybenz@hotmail.com

Fairy Cakes ReTro StYlE

Having bought some red food colouring plus my mum giving me some Retro cake cases, I decided I would attempt to make/bake and decorate some fairy cakes!!!Not bad for a first attempt...

I have finally found a dress to wear to the wedding this weekend,it is quite bohemian and not particularly formal, but I love it!!! just need a bag to go with it now yay!!

I have also been keeping myself busy with making a top for myself, which is a little big, but looks fine with a vest top underneath...

It is the last Helping Hands Toddler group tomorrow before they brake up for the summer hols!! We are having a pirates and princess picnic party...so got a lot of crafts to cut out etc

A day of making ...

Having not created anything for the past week, I decided to get my self in gear and make some more brooches using an old pearl necklace I had. The necklace had various sized pearls, which I could then arrange into a pattern in the center of the brooch.

In the last week or so I have also gained a little knowledge about football due to the world cup : ) watched DVDs , been invited to friends houses for meals, seen Elspeth's new born baby and drank copious amounts of red wine...which I heard is meant to be good for your health!!!

Tonight I am going to Knitty Gritty A craft group that I go to every other Thursday.... I am also trying to sort out a dress and present for Phil + Helens wedding which is on the 17.07.10 in Gloucestershire.

If you have been following my blog and would be interested in purchasing any of the brooches I have made either for presents or for yourself please e-mail me on linzybenz@hotmail.com specifying which brooch etc
